A Funnel Drop-Off Is a Symptom, Not a Root Cause

Separate funnel diagnosis from root-cause diagnosis.

The funnel tells you where to look, not what to believe. A visible cliff on a chart has emotional power. That is useful and dangerous. The danger is mistaking a located problem for an explained problem. The best teams use funnels in sequence: leak first, segment second, explanation third.
