Write a dataset contract before collecting examples
Define a dataset contract that captures source, coverage, consent, exclusions, and known risks.
The move: make the dataset explain itself before the model learns from it. A useful dataset contract answers five questions: why this dataset exists, what it contains, how it was collected, what transformations happened, and when it should not be used. Motivation State the behavior you are trying to improve and the business moment that justifies training. "Better support answers" is too broad; "classify billing disputes into six current resolution paths" is usable.
