Assume the Network Is Hostile
Apply the hostile-network mental model before starting sensitive remote work.
Treat unfamiliar networks as untrusted until your controls are in place. A friendly SSID does not prove ownership. Public and third-party networks sit outside the organization's control, so your job is to avoid giving that network unnecessary influence over authentication or sensitive work.
