Work the Espresso Ratio
Calculate dose-to-yield ratio and use it as a recipe anchor.
The recipe card says 18 g dose at a 1:2 espresso ratio, but the last shot ran to 45 g and tasted hollow. Dose x ratio = target beverage yield Judging by shot time alone hides yield drift. A 28-second shot at 45 g is not the same drink as a 28-second shot at 36 g. Name the dose Dose = 18 g dry coffee in the basket. Start with the measured input.
