Interpret benchmark results without over-generalizing them to every task in your environment.
Leaderboards answer narrower questions than the tweets about them. Benchmarks matter because they provide controlled evidence. They fail when readers forget that control always narrows scope. A coding benchmark is not a general business benchmark. A multimodal academic benchmark is not a proof of document-processing reliability in your stack.
