A Style Guide Is a Decision System
Use a style guide to convert repeated copy decisions into reusable rules.
Style is where taste becomes infrastructure. The point is not to police commas; it is to make repeated choices cheaper and more trustworthy. The hierarchy Start with product-specific rules, then your house style, then outside references. If your product has a special term, define it locally. If it is a general writing question, use the broader guide. This prevents overloading the style guide with every possible grammar issue.
