Convert a vague variance comment into a trustworthy executive note. IBCS-style reporting makes message, comparison, and notation consistent: actual versus plan, driver, implication. “Due to timing” sounds familiar but does not tell the reader whether the variance is controllable, recurring, or forecast-changing.
