From Instant Answer to Evidence-First Draft
Design a system prompt pattern that makes an assistant gather and cite relevant source evidence before drafting.
Same support assistant, same policy question. What changed? Before: the draft appears before the evidence trail. After: evidence is gathered before the answer is composed. The assistant now finds relevant file sections before drafting, which reduces plausible but unsupported answers. The prompt asks whether the evidence is sufficient, so missing policy coverage becomes visible instead of being filled by guesswork. The final answer includes the source basis, so reviewers can verify the claim without replaying the whole chat. Grounding is a sequence, not a decorative citation step.
