Design BYOD around boundaries, not hope
Explain the security and privacy boundaries that make BYOD manageable.
The move: define the boundary before granting access. BYOD creates two responsibilities at once. The organization must prevent work data leakage from a device it does not fully own. It must also avoid turning personal-device access into unnecessary employee surveillance. A strong BYOD design separates three things: work data, device posture, and personal space. Work data should be protected with managed apps, encryption, copy-paste controls, and remote work-data wipe. Device posture should verify minimum security facts such as supported OS version, screen lock, encryption, and no obvious compromise signal.
