Use Buffers as Calendar Shock Absorbers

Place buffers around meetings and focus blocks so the day can absorb overruns without sacrificing deep work.

Back-to-back is efficient only on paper. In practice, unbuffered calendars leak decisions, promises, and emotional residue. The buffer mechanism Buffers protect the handoff between modes. After a meeting, they give you time to capture decisions and owners. Before a focus block, they let you close loops and stage materials. After a hard block, they provide enough reset to collaborate without dragging cognitive fatigue into the room. Where to place them Do not buffer everything.
