Build The Capacity Model Before The Crisis

Build a simple IT service capacity model that connects business demand, service behavior, and component limits.

A useful capacity model connects what the business is doing to what users feel and what the platform can actually absorb. The three-layer view ITIL's capacity and performance lens is useful because it prevents a narrow infrastructure answer. Start with business demand: launches, campaigns, batch windows, active users, orders, requests, or data volume. Then name the service behavior users care about: latency, availability, throughput, freshness, or completion time.
