A leader argues that value-chain emissions should wait because supplier data is incomplete and the estimates look rough. Scope 3 is too fuzzy to manage seriously. Until the supplier data is clean, we should focus only on emissions inside our own walls. The data is rough in places, and we should say that plainly. But rough does not mean irrelevant. The Scope 3 standard exists because value-chain emissions are often large and need directional management before every supplier can give perfect numbers.
