Stop Asking 'Any Update?'
Rewrite generic follow-ups into MAP-specific trial closes.
The weakest late-stage email is polite, vague, and easy to ignore. Use the four-part follow-up Name the milestone, name the owner, connect the buyer consequence, and ask the next-step trial close. The email should be answerable with yes, no, or a specific blocker. Keep urgency buyer-owned Do not write, 'I need this by Friday.' Write, 'To keep the July 15 rollout, we planned finance alignment by Friday.' That anchors the date in their outcome. Invite correction A good follow-up lets the buyer update the MAP without embarrassment: 'If that date moved, what should we adjust?'
