Coach Reps Past Polite Interest

Distinguish surface interest from implication-level discovery in a sales coaching review.

Interest is not urgency. A buyer can enjoy a demo, praise a feature, and still have no reason to change this quarter. Four Levels of Discovery Situation questions map the account. Problem questions find dissatisfaction. Implication questions connect that dissatisfaction to measurable business harm. Need-payoff questions invite the buyer to describe why solving it matters. Manager Signal When a rep says “they loved it,” listen for missing implication. Ask what breaks, who feels it, what it costs, and what deadline makes it matter.
