Confirm Before You Counter
Use a concise listening summary before giving a conflicting BLUF.
A listening summary is not a concession; it is a runway for the point you need to land. The sequence First, name the concern in the other person's terms. Second, state your BLUF. Third, support it with two or three reasons. This order matters. If you lead with your evidence, the other person may listen for flaws.
