Listen for the Question Under the Question
Identify the underlying listener need before giving a structured answer.
A brilliant answer to the wrong question still feels like noise. The listening move before the clarity move Pause long enough to infer what the other person is trying to do with your answer. Are they deciding, diagnosing, escalating, reassuring, or learning? That verb changes the answer.
