A clear update is not shorter because it has fewer facts; it is shorter because the facts have jobs. The BLUF-plus-pyramid move Start with the answer: the recommendation, status, risk, or ask. Then stack support underneath it in a pyramid: conclusion, reasons, evidence. This makes the listener's path explicit.
