The teach Market data answers a pricing question. It does not automatically answer an individual pay question. A market source can tell you what similar jobs appear to pay. It cannot by itself decide whether a specific employee is in the right role level, paid fairly inside the band, or ready for promotion. That distinction keeps the conversation honest.
