A customer suffered a three-hour outage during their monthly reporting window. The account team wants to offer a major concession and guarantee that the issue will never recur. Use recovery to rebuild certainty and fairness, not to perform confidence you cannot yet justify. The common trap is the heroic promise: saying the issue is solved forever before engineering has completed the prevention review.
