Use abstraction to choose which details matter for a specific problem.
Abstraction is the art of leaving out the right things. Keep what changes the decision A useful abstraction is tied to a purpose. A map of the subway ignores building heights because riders do not need them. A map for firefighters cannot ignore exits. The same is true at work. A model for churn, hiring, incident response, or budget planning should keep the variables that change the next move and hide the details that only make the room feel informed.
