Write a How-Might-We prompt that preserves the user need without prescribing the solution.
Principle: Frame ideation around the job, not the product area. The Move Use this test: could three different solution types answer the prompt? If yes, it is probably open enough. Could the team tell whether an idea fits the user's situation and desired progress? If yes, it is probably focused enough. Common Trap Prompts like improve onboarding, make reporting easier, or increase engagement are not wrong because they are simple. They are weak because they lack a human moment.
