Run SPIN as a Listening Map
Use SPIN as a sequence for listening and adapting during a consultative selling call.
A strong discovery call is structured, but it should not sound scripted. The sequence SPIN gives you a reliable order for discovery. Start with Situation only long enough to understand context. Move to Problem as soon as the buyer names friction. Use the pain funnel to explore the problem without assuming its impact. Then ask Implication questions that connect the problem to cost, risk, delay, or missed opportunity. Finally, use Need-payoff to let the buyer articulate why change is worth it.
