Recognize an adult likely in cardiac arrest and activate emergency response without delaying compressions.
Adult sudden collapse in a workplace copy area: unresponsive, abnormal breathing, bystanders waiting. Marcus is unresponsive and only gasping. What should you do first? Tell one person to call 911, send another for the AED, and start chest compressions now. Correct. This activates recognition/call, early CPR, and rapid defibrillation in parallel.
