AED arrives during ongoing CPR. The person is wearing a button-down shirt, the chest is sweaty, and bystanders are close. Prepare pads on bare dry chest, clear for analysis/shock, and resume compressions immediately. The common trap is stopping compressions for the entire AED setup because the device feels more official than the pump. Turn on Open or power on the AED and follow voice prompts.
