Map the Claim Before the Debate
Map a workplace claim into claim, reasons, evidence, assumptions, and objections before evaluating it.
The first critical-thinking move is not to be smarter. It is to make the argument visible. Workplace debates often fail because people skip directly from conclusion to persuasion. Argument mapping slows that jump. It asks: what is the exact claim, what reasons support it, what evidence supports those reasons, what assumptions connect the evidence to the claim, and what objections deserve space?
