Recognize and repair common curse-of-knowledge patterns before presenting.
Before-state check What question exposes a missing before-state? What was painful, slow, risky, or impossible before this change? Without the before-state, the improvement has no contrast and the listener cannot value it. Causal verb missing This sounds important, but I cannot tell what changes what. Use when a slide is full of nouns. Cause line X causes Y, which changes Z for this audience. Adding another label or metric without the causal link. Cause language turns a topic into an explanation. Good vs weak analogy Which analogy earns a place? The strong analogy maps a relationship the listener can use.…
