Find The Customer Job Behind The Plan

Use Jobs to Be Done to reposition HVAC maintenance plans around customer motivations and anxieties.

The reframe: a maintenance plan is hired to make a customer's life easier, safer, or more predictable. Push Push is the discomfort with the current situation. In HVAC, push may be a recent emergency repair, tenant complaints, high utility bills, unclear equipment age, or fear of being ignored during peak season. If you do not name the push, the plan feels optional. Pull Pull is the better future. A homeowner wants fewer surprises. A facility manager wants uptime and documentation.
