Work through the first hour of an incident report

Structure a first-hour incident report so responders get timing, scope, and current state quickly.

An incident report exists, but it is too vague to drive fast, confident triage. State the event → anchor the time → name the asset or account → describe what you observed → note actions already taken People either send a one-line panic message or bury responders in guesses and theories. State the event Describe the type of issue in plain terms: suspicious MFA push, lost laptop, opened attachment, unexpected admin change. Clear category labels help route the event.
