Explore Before You Explain

Run an exploratory scan that checks distribution, missingness, outliers, and segment shape before making a claim.

EDA is the pause between seeing a number and believing a story. Check coverage Confirm the dates, rows, sources, and event definitions match the question. A missing day or changed tracker can masquerade as customer behavior. Check shape Look at spread, skew, zeros, caps, and outliers. Averages are useful, but they are often the least honest view of a lumpy process. Check segments Cut by the most plausible drivers: channel, plan, geography, customer size, device, team, or cohort.
