The move: use lineage to answer origin and impact under time pressure. Upstream: where did this come from? When a value is wrong, upstream lineage narrows the search. You can inspect the source extract, transformation run, contract change, or backfill that fed the bad output. This prevents random debugging across the warehouse. Downstream: who can be hurt?
