Map the Purpose Before the Fields
Identify whether each personal-data field is necessary for a stated purpose before it is collected.
Minimisation starts with a sentence, not a system setting. If a team cannot finish the sentence, "We need this data in order to...", the field is already suspect. Purpose first A valid purpose is specific enough that a person could understand what will happen with their data. "Improve our service" is usually too broad. "Schedule and tailor the requested demo" is specific enough to test fields against. Necessity next Necessary does not mean commercially attractive, useful later, or standard in the CRM.
