Ask a Statistical Question, Not a Data Wish
Write a statistical question that names variability, comparison, population, and measurement before collecting data.
A statistical question expects the data to vary. Calculation request A calculation request asks for one number: average revenue, total tickets, conversion rate, or active users. It can be useful, but it often hides spread, mix, and uncertainty. Statistical question A statistical question names a population and asks about variation, comparison, relationship, or change over time. It prepares you to inspect distribution, not only center. Interpretation boundary A statistical question also limits the claim. Describing a difference is not the same as proving why it happened. Prediction is not the same as causation.
