Body Language Do/Do Not Cards

Recall body-position choices that reduce threat during in-person escalation.

Stance Square up or angle out? Angle reduces threat while keeping you engaged. Doorway Stand in the doorway so they cannot leave. The person is defensive but not creating immediate physical danger. Blocking the exit can turn defensiveness into risk behavior. Use this instead Stand to the side of the doorway, keep the path visible, and use a verbal boundary if needed.
