Recall boundary scripts that are behavioral and specific.
They say: "Do you even understand this?" A personal jab interrupts substance. Do not counterattack with "That is disrespectful." Boundary line We can continue if the questions stay about the clause, not the person reading it. It names the acceptable behavior and gives a path back. Boundary formula When behavior happens, impact occurs; we can continue if replacement behavior happens. Behavior plus condition beats threat plus judgment. Boundary or threat? A boundary tells people exactly what will happen next. What should a boundary avoid? Mind-reading motive or labeling emotion. Say "interruptions" instead of "hostility" when the behavior is interruptions.
