Write investigation notes that preserve evidence, decisions, and handoff context.
Your notes are part of the fix. Timeline Record symptoms, deployments, alerts, commands, mitigations, and decisions in time order. Debugging often depends on sequence: what changed before the symptom, and what changed after the mitigation? Tests Run Write the hypothesis beside the test. A command without the question it answered is hard to reuse. Include surprising negative results; they remove branches from the search tree.
