Define Event Scope with a WBS
Use a work breakdown structure to turn an event brief into complete, non-overlapping deliverables.
A WBS is a scope map, not a fancy task list. In event planning, it protects the team from the false comfort of visible work. The visible work is obvious: venue, food, speaker, registration, design. The invisible work is where guests feel the failure: unclear wayfinding, no backup badge printer, sponsor assets arriving late, or a VIP with no arrival plan. Use deliverables as headings. For a corporate summit, the headings might be guest journey, venue and production, content program, sponsor and partner experience, staffing and run of show, and closeout.
