The Six-Field Delegation Brief
Draft a complete delegation brief using outcome, level, decisions, guardrails, resources, and check-in.
The reframe: a long explanation is not a delegation brief. A brief works when it covers the six fields that make ownership possible: outcome, level, decisions, guardrails, resources, and check-in. If one is missing, the employee has to infer the rules. Outcome Name the result, not just the activity. "Audit tickets" is activity. "Find the top two causes of reopened onboarding tickets" is an outcome. Level and decisions Use the seven delegation levels to say who decides.
