The current MQL definition reads: "A lead who is engaged and likely interested." Sales interprets it differently from marketing, so accepted volume and response timing are inconsistent. A useful MQL definition combines stage meaning, score threshold, and expected follow-up behavior. The trap is stopping at the phrase "engaged and likely interested."
