Design for Access Without Lowering Standards
Apply UDL to remove avoidable barriers in an adult-learning activity.
Flexible routes, fixed target UDL is often misunderstood as making lessons softer. In professional learning, it should make the route fairer and the standard clearer. The designer asks: are we measuring the target behavior, or are we accidentally measuring reading speed, confidence, jargon familiarity, device access, or comfort speaking in public? What to notice Use the idea as a design test: can the learner see the work problem, connect it to experience, try a decision, and leave with a next action? If one of those pieces is missing, the lesson may feel polished but still fail to transfer.
