Design Primary Actions With Fitts In Mind

Place and size high-frequency targets so they are easy to acquire accurately.

Target design is part of task design. Three variables to inspect Look at size, distance, and consequence. Size affects accuracy. Distance affects movement time. Consequence affects how much protection the target needs. A small far-away target can be acceptable for a rare low-stakes link; it is a failure for a repeated operational action.
