Design the After-Use Path
Identify the after-use path a package is designed to support and remove the features that block it.
If the package has no designed after-use path, the sustainability story is probably wishful. Pick the path first Do not begin with "eco-friendly." Begin with a specific path: refill, reuse, recycle, compost, or reduce material. Each path creates different design rules. A refill pack needs clear dosing and storage. A recycle path needs material compatibility. A reuse path needs durability and a second-life reason.
