Treat the Twin as an Asset
Manage a digital twin as a value-producing asset with life-cycle accountability.
The digital twin itself needs asset management. Value Name the value stream: downtime avoided, energy reduced, quality escaped, planning time saved, or risk made visible. Vague transformation value is hard to maintain. A value statement should be measurable enough that a sponsor can tell whether the twin still deserves attention six months after launch. Cost Include cloud spend, integration support, model retraining, sensor upkeep, analyst time, and vendor fees. A twin with no upkeep budget will drift.
