Commit to using a structured investigation plan on a real employee issue.

Create and use a one-page investigation plan before the next employee interview or disciplinary recommendation. A real disciplinary-procedures situation where an allegation, complaint, policy breach, or performance issue could become formal action. A manager asks HR to approve a written warning before evidence has been gathered from the employee or direct witnesses.
