Choose triage windows that keep the inbox processed without creating constant context switching.
The inbox should have office hours. Triage mode In triage mode, move quickly but decide fully. Use delete, two-minute do, delegate, defer, or reference. Do not start a 45-minute analysis because an email happened to ask for it. Execution mode In execution mode, use your selected commitments. The email that arrived most recently is not automatically more important than the task you already chose. Calibrate frequency If your role has live operational risk, use more windows. If your role needs deep work, use fewer. The discipline is not ignoring email; it is deciding when email may interrupt the plan.
