Read Engagement as a Needs Ladder

Interpret an engagement result as unmet workplace needs, not as a vague mood score.

Engagement data becomes useful when it points to the next unmet need. A single engagement score tempts leaders to ask, What will raise the number? That question creates generic actions: snacks, swag, town halls, one-off appreciation posts. The better question is, Which need is currently blocking commitment?
