Escalate with SBAR Before the Room Goes Sideways
Use SBAR to escalate a changing urgent-care patient clearly and quickly.
SBAR is a pressure tool, not a paperwork tool. In urgent care, the patient is often moving faster than the chart. You may have a crowded lobby, a provider in a procedure, and a symptom pattern that is not yet a diagnosis. SBAR keeps the escalation short enough to be heard and complete enough to be acted on. Use Situation to capture the current problem in one breath.
