COIN: Do Not Stop at Impact
Use Context, Observation, Impact, and Next steps to turn feedback into a concrete agreement.
The teach COIN is feedback with a landing gear. It helps you move from "here is what happened" to "here is what we will do next." Use the four parts: Context: When, where, or around what work did this happen? Observation: What did you notice? Keep this factual. Impact: What effect did it have on quality, trust, speed, risk, money, or people? Next steps: What changes, who owns it, and when will you check? The mistake is treating Impact as the finish line.
