Frame the Decision Before the Data Pull

Frame an analytics request as a business decision, success measure, and scope before collecting data.

Start with the decision, not the dataset. CRISP-DM gives analytics work a practical life cycle: understand the business problem, understand the data, prepare the data, model or analyze, evaluate, and deploy the result. The first phase matters most in business analytics because most wasted analysis is not technically wrong; it answers a question nobody needed to decide. A strong framing note has five parts.
