Give First Before You Ask
Apply Ferrazzi's give-first mindset to begin a professional conversation with value first.
Micro-lesson: Give-first as default When you open with value, you reduce the risk that the other person sees you as a threat to their time. Try this sequence for 20 minutes this week: identify someone in your orbit who is currently overloaded, offer one quick concrete aid, then ask if anything else would be useful. Do not add a hidden request. The second step is to track outcome quality, not volume. Count follow-up invitations, warm replies, and practical reciprocation. You will usually see that a few meaningful exchanges outperform a large number of low-quality requests.
