Count the Right Emissions Before You Promise Reductions
Explain why emissions boundaries and inventory principles come before reduction targets in green operations.
Do not start with the reduction slogan; start with the inventory design. The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard exists because organizations routinely make operational decisions from numbers that are not comparable across time. A carbon figure looks precise, but it becomes misleading fast when one year includes refrigerants, another excludes leased vehicles, and a third swaps estimation methods without disclosure.
